Trail Information

The Cottonwood Trail (#247) is a difficult 10.8 mile trail. This trail begins at 3,300 feet elevation and climbs another 1,440 feet. The trail has seasonal water flows in the Bronco and nearby Cottonwood Creek. There are also several permanent springs nearby. From the trail are several good views of Bronco Butte, Continental Mt. and Skull Mesa.

Directions

From Cave Creek:
Drive north on Forest Road 48 to Forest Road 247. The trail starts at the junction of FR 247 and FR 48

    I’ve always enjoyed hiking and have been indulging in the activity for many years.
    I’m now looking for a more difficult trail and find this location inviting.
