Trail Information

The Deep Creek Trail provides access to the Sierra Ancha Wilderness with plenty of scenic views including views of Deep Creek, Cherry Creek and long vistas of the Salt River. Vegetation inhabiting the area includes oak brush, manzanita, juniper and Gambel oak. Wildlife includes javelina, bear and deer. This trail is easy hiking and passes through a chaparral/grassland basin with good views of the Sierra Ancha Mountain bluffs.

Directions

From Young:
Drive south on State Highway 288. From Highway 288, turn east onto Forest Road 203 (Cherry Creek Road), then follow this for 9 miles to Forest Road 203A. Turn north and follow this road for approximately 6.5 miles to the trailhead.
