Trail Information

The Blue Lake Horse Trail leaves Toutle Trail at the 8100-600 Road, crosses Forest Road 8100 and gently climbs to another junction with Toutle Trail. It continues to climb and then crosses the May 18, 1980 mudflow. The trail follows the west side of the mudflows and then turns west through a managed forest to where the trail junctions with Toutle Trail a 1/2 mile south of Sheep Canyon Trail #240.


From Cougar:
Take Forest Road 90 east to Forest Road 83. Follow FR 83 north past the Cougar Sno-Park to Forest Road 8100. Follow FR 8100 north until it ends at Forest Road 8123. Follow FR 8123 north to the Blue Lake trailhead.
