Trail Information
The Chilnualna Falls Trail begins as a single track along the stream. It ascends from the beginning winding along the creeks northern bank for the first half mile. The trail reaches a rushing cascade before leaving the stream for open forest and a series of switchbacks. The next three miles to the top of the falls is a steady ascent. Approaching the crest, vistas of the Wawona Valley are seen, as well as the wooded ridges beyond. Hikers are also rewarded with refreshing views of Chilnualna Falls. Return to parking area by the same route.
Directions
From the South Entrance:
Travel north on Highway 41 to Wawona. Turn right on Chilnualna Falls Road and travel 2 miles eastward. Before the road turns to dirt there is a signed parking area on the right hand side. Park here and begin your hike following the stream.
