Trail Information

The trail to Pine Pond is along a graded road that crosses an oak savannah. The trail has many fine views of the gentle foothills of Mt. Diablo and a good place just to lie in the grass to contemplate the sky. A sharp left at the next junction drops you down to the banks of Pine Pond. The pond is a habitat for a myriad of flying, swimming, crawling and jumping creatures which constitute an incomparable living museum.

Directions

The trailhead is located just after the 3 mile marker on North Gate Road.
