Trail Information

The Mount Bierstadt Trail starts above treeline and takes you through the largest willow bog in Colorado. A wooden boardwalk has been built so hikers can keep their feet dry from the wet bog and protect the alpine willows from human damage. The trail then begins to climb, climb and climb some more to the summit of Mount Beirstadt. Wonderful views of surrounding peaks can be seen as well as the Continental Divide in distance.

When the snow falls, the Mount Bierstadt Trail becomes the domain of snowshoers.

Directions

At the top of Guanella Pass Road (County Road 381), there is a parking area where 3 trails start. Each one is marked and the Mount Bierstadt Trail heads due east from the parking area.
