Directions

Follow the trail across the wash. The trail stays on the bench on the right (north) side of the canyon until the canyon narrows and then ends as it drops into the wash. Follow the wash (boulder hopping is required) to a seasonal waterfall and box canyon. Ice Box Canyon derives its name from the cooler temperatures in this narrow canyon. These cooler temperatures create what are called micro-climates, small areas where the year-round climate is different enough from the surrounding area to support a plant and animal community normally found at higher elevations.

Directions

From Las Vegas Boulevard:
Go west on Charleston Boulevard for 17 miles. You will see a sign on your right hand side that says Red Rock Scenic Drive. Then continue on the loop road (one way) to the Ice Box Canyon Overlook and park.
