Trail Information
The extensive and well used Blair Lake Trail travels from Blair Lake Campground to Taylor Burn Campground. The trail begins in the meadow at the north end of the lake and climbs out of the basin, eventually reaching the road and Spring Prairie. It follows the road for 3/8ths of a mile. The trail then follows a ridge through rolling country and several small meadows to the road’s end at Long Prairie. The Mule Mountain Trail heads off to the right just past Spring Prairie Road. The trail continues to Road 2417-254 where it comes out at the road’s end and down a steep section into a meadow, passes near Winchester Lake and climbs to a junction with the Winchester Trail.
The Blair Lake Trail then continues on steep grades and passes near Lower Quinn Lake and on to the junction with the Six Lakes Trail and then down to the Moolack Trail. From here it winds a short way to the Shale Ridge Trail and down to the North Fork drainage. The North Fork is sometimes difficult to cross, but can often be crossed on logs. The trail then cuts steeply out of the drainage and follows an old road grade to Taylor Burn Campground. There is water available at Blair Lake, Lower Quinn Lake and the North Fork, as well as numerous streams and small lake along the way. Good boots are highly recommended.
