Trail Information

Forest Park encompasses over 5,000 wooded acres making it the largest wilderness park within city limits in the United States. Situated only minutes from downtown Portland, Forest Park is a ribbon of green and urban forest northwest of the city. Forest Park is a mecca for Portland area trailrunners and walkers that are looking for exercise close to the city. While the trails in Forest Park are easy, for those looking to do some exploration and get exercise this is your place. But if you’re looking for solitude, this is not an area that you will enjoy.

Directions

From Interstate 405:
Exit onto Highway 30 heading west. From Highway 30 West exit onto Vaughn St. and proceed to 23rd Ave. Turn left onto 23rd and go two blocks to Thurman Road Turn right onto Thurman and proceed 1.3 miles to the parking area at the Thurman gate.
