Trail Information

The McKenzie River Trail is widely regarded as one of the best mountain bike trails in North America. Paralleling the McKenzie river and offering a wide variety of terrain, this trail provides challenging and scenic riding opportunities in the heart of the Oregon Cascades.

A snaking rollercoaster of a trail that follows the McKenzie River through an ancient forest. This trail offers smooth singletrack, log bridges, hot springs, killer views, tight turns, steep drops, technical lava field traverses and challenging climbs. The McKenzie River Trail is an excellent ride to do as a shuttle. Leave one car in McKenzie Bridge and drive up to Clear Lake.

The first 4 to 5 miles of the McKenzie River Trail is very technical with lava flows and tight turns. Don’t get discouraged during this early part because past the “Blue Hole” get ready for fast and fairly smooth singletrack for the next 20 miles.

I have floated the McKenzie - great fishing and very relaxing on the lower part of the river. Thumbs up!
