Trail Information

Moon Point Trail leads the hiker to a unique area known for its botanical variety and habitat diversity. The trail crosses wet and dry meadows, rocky cliffs and passes beneath high-elevation conifers. This area is like a magnet for wildlife, so remain alert if you wish to hear or see them.

The Moon Point Trail begins at a junction with Road 2129 and ends at the summit of Moon Point. The trail follows an old jeep road through forests and meadows. This road was used for fire spotting and cattle tending in the 50′s and 60′s. While the trail can be very wet in spring, even submerged in places, the water supply is sporadic during the rest of the year. You should bring your own to be safe. The trail ends on a rock promontory offering a good view of Dome Rock.
