Trail Information

The Dog Lake Trail is a short side trip from either the Lake Mary Trail or the Clayton Peak Trail into the cirque of the small Dog Lake.

When snow begins to fall, the Dog Lake Trail becomes the domain of snowshoers.


Via Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (7000 South Wasatch Blvd) to Brighton. Park in the large lot in front of the Mt. Majestic Lodge. The Lake Mary Trailhead is behind the lodge and is marked by a trailhead sign. Follow the Lake Mary Trail about 3/4 mile to the junction with the Dog lake Trail. The Dog Lake Trail will be on the left.
