The Great White Throne and The Spearhead are visible from the northern end of the trail with Lady Mountain and Red Arch Mountain visible along the way south. The Grotto Trail provides access to Kayenta and West Rim Trail from Zion Lodge. A loop hike can be created by joining the Emerald Pool Trail, Kayenta Trail and Grotto Trail.
