Trail Information

The Pothole Point Trail heads in a 0.6 mile loop over Cedar Mesa sandstone. This trail is aptly named for the potholes that have formed in the slickrock. The potholes range in size from under a foot in diameter to deep depressions. The many potholes in the sandstone teem with wildlife after heavy rainfall. A brochure depicting the small creatures that live in the potholes is available at the trailhead. This trail provides expansive views of the Needles.

Directions

From Needles Visitor Center:
Drive 5 miles west on the main park road, past Squaw Flat Road, to Pothole Point Trailhead.
