Trail Information

The Whale Rock Trail heads for one mile from Upheaval Dome Road to Whale Rock. It begins on the mesa top then climbs 100 feet to a formation shaped like a whale. Handrails are provided for the steep climb up Whale Rock. The terminus of this trail, on the whale, provides visitors with excellent views of the surrounding mesa and Trail Canyon.

Directions

From Island in the Sky Visitor Center:
Drive south on Utah 313 approximately for about 7.25 miles to the junction of Main Island Road and Upheaval Dome Road. Bear right at this junction and drive 4.7 miles to the parking area for Whale Rock Trail.
