Trail Information

Access to the White Pine Trail begins at the White Pine Trailhead parking lot, about 5.3 miles from the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon and about 1 mile above Tanner’s Flat Campground. Toilets and a paved parking lot are located at the trailhead. A bridge crosses Little Cottonwood Creek and the trail joins an unimproved mountain road which continues almost to White Pine Lake. The White Pine Trail offers views of the Salt Lake Valley, Lone Peak Wilderness and recent avalanche paths.

There are many mines along the White Pine Trail, but the State of Utah recommends that you do not enter them for your safety.

When winter comes, the White Pine Trail becomes a popular snowshoeing location.

Directions

Via Little Cottonwood Canyon Road (9400 South Wasatch Blvd) about 5.3 miles up the canyon to the White Pine Trailhead parking lot.
