Trail Information

The Cold Springs Trail is a moderately used trail located on the lower southern slopes of Mt. Adams. The trail descends through lava flows and young forests, forming an access route between Gotchen Creek Trail #40 and Cold Springs Camp located near the timberline on Mt. Adams. The trail features wildflowers and the A. G. Aiken Lava Flow.

Directions

From Trout Lake:
Take Forest Road 23 north to Forest Road 80. Take FR80 north to the forest boundary. Continue on FR 80 north past the Wicky Creek Shelter until FR 80 becomes Forest Road 8040. Follow FR 8040 until it becomes Forest Road 500. Take FR 500 to the Cold Springs Campground where the trailhead is located.
