Trail Information
The Crofton Butte Trail follows the contours of the lower slopes of Mt. Adams. From Forest Road 8031.050, the trail enters the wilderness after only 0.5 mile. There is a natural opening at Crofton Butte, which offers excellent views of the surrounding area. The trail crosses Croften Creek and then leaves the wilderness and crosses Shorthorn Creek. The trail ends on Forest Road 8040 and features wildflowers, scenery and a beautiful view from Crofton Butte.
Directions
From Trout Lake:
Travel north on Forest Road 23 to Forest Road 80. Follow Forest Road 80 north to the forest boundary. Continue on Forest Road 80 to Forest Road 8031. Travel west on FR 8031 until it intersects with Forest Road 8031.050,. Take FR 8031.050, approximately 3 miles to the trailhead.
