Trail Information

The Quartz Creek Butte Trail is a maintained trail that makes a steep descent through a forested area from Summit Prairie Trail (#2) to Quartz Creek Trail (#5). You can enjoy a long-distance backpacking opportunity by using this trail to access the Summit Prairie Trail (#2) from the Quartz Creek Trail (#5). This trail passes through a mature stand of Douglas-fir and Pacific silver fir trees and offers a remote setting.

Directions

From Cougar:
Follow Forest Road 90 east across the forest boundary. Continue on FR 90 past the Lower Falls Recreation Area to the trailhead for Summit Prairie Trail #2. Follow this trail west for approximately two miles to the Quartz Creek Butte Trail.
