Trail Information

The ride over the Altamont using Altamont Pass and Vasco Rd is another one of the nearly endless loop rides between Livermore to Tracy. This ride is not as challenging as some of the other rides in the East Bay but it isn’t a cake walk either. While the headwinds are not as strong as they are on the other roads in this area, you should still expect a heavy headwind if you’re riding in the afternoon. But this is the price you pay for the wonderful tailwind which pushed into Tracy at 30+ MPH. You should plan on bringing large water bottles or a hydration system if you’re riding in the summer heat. This is a good ride to do with a few friends so you can share the work slogging into that headwind.

Start at the Nob Hill Shopping Center. From Interstate 580:
Exit at Livermore Ave and head south. The Nob Hill Shopping Center is located on the left side of the road on South Livermore Ave.
