Trail Information

The Mount Diablo Summit via South Gate ride is one of the Bay Area’s classic hill climbs. This challenging but rewarding ride to the top of Mt. Diablo is a true test of climbing ability as you climb over 3100 feet in less than 12 miles. South Gate Road is the easier of the two climbs to the summit because of several spots where it flattens to give relief. However, the climb gets harder when you turn onto Summit Road and continues to get harder all the way to the top. The last 1/8th of a mile is a killer at 18%.

Directions
