Winchester, who boasts some of the most beautiful architecture in the state , is cradled gently in the arms of the Shendoah Valley, an area that lies steeped in history whose breadth ranges from pre Colonial America to modern day makers of history and policy.

A stones throw from Washington DC, Winchester-Frederick County is a charming old world step back from every-day cares, as well as a modern city who can offer nearly anything available in the world.

Virginia Beach, long a passionate getaway for honeymooners and anniversary celebrations, features beautiful landscapes, white sand beaches and marvelous dining opportunities as well as a wonderful exciting night life. It also boasts some prime whale watching opportunities as the whales migrate through to warmer climates.

Beautiful Beaches, historic light houses and incredible climate are all part and parcel of Virginia, which is home to myriad species of sea birds, as well as those who migrate through on their way to other places.

My own experience with Virginia this past summer found us wandering through an older park in the city, where we came upon a small group of cormorants, something we rarely see, who were kind enough to sit still and offer this photo opportunity for me.
